Personal Care Assistance
What are Personal Care Assistants (PCAs)?
PCAs are individuals that are hired and trained to help client’s with their activities of daily living, including but not limited to, transferring and re-positioning in bed, eating, toileting, bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, etc.
Under the direction of a Qualified Professional, a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) follows a specific plan of care, as determined by a Public Health Nurse.
PCAs will observe, redirect, and document changes in the health and behavior of a client.
Who can be a Personal Care Assistant?
An individual that has been hired and trained by a qualified home care provider.
